How it works

How the font finder works

  1. 1

    Enter a domain

Type the site's domain or paste any URL from it.

  2. 2

    We read the webfonts

Fonts come from the @font-face rules and font services the site loads, not from the generic fallback list at the end of its CSS.

  3. 3

    Find the font

See which face sets headings and which sets body text, its weights, and a Google Fonts link when the family is free to use.

Use the API instead

Building a design tool, a brand kit generator or a white-label theme? The Brand API returns the fonts with every lookup, in the same call as the logos and colors.

FAQ

Questions

How does the font finder work?

We fetch the site and its stylesheets, collect the webfonts it declares through @font-face rules and font services such as Google Fonts and Adobe Fonts, and work out which family sets the headings and which sets the body text.

Why doesn't it list Arial or Helvetica?

Those usually appear only as fallbacks after the real webfont. We report the font the site loads, and a system font only when the site deliberately uses one.

Can I use the font I found?

A Google Font is free to use under its open licence. Custom and Adobe fonts are licensed by the brand, so you will need your own licence to use them.

Can I get fonts from the API?

Yes. Every Brand API response includes a fonts array with each font's name, role, origin and weights. The free plan includes 50 brand lookups, with no card.
