Famous brand fonts: what Apple, Nike, Netflix and more use
The typefaces famous brands use, from Apple's SF Pro to Netflix Sans and Spotify Mix, who made them, and how to find the font any company's website uses.
"What font does Netflix use?" has a short answer: Netflix Sans, a typeface Netflix had made for itself in 2018. Most famous brands are like that now. Their fonts are commissioned, named after the company and not for sale, which is why a font identifier run on a screenshot so often comes back with a near miss.
Below are the typefaces of 37 well-known brands. We checked each one on October 15, 2026 against the company's own pages, the type foundry's, or reporting from the design press, and we read the fonts each website actually loads.
Logo, typeface and website font are three answers
Before the list, one distinction that explains most wrong answers:
- The logo is often lettering drawn once, not a font. Coca-Cola's script logo is the obvious example: you cannot type it.
- The brand typeface is what the company sets its headlines, ads and packaging in. Coca-Cola's is TCCC Unity.
- The website font can differ again. YouTube's brand typeface is YouTube Sans, but its interface sets body text in Roboto. Spotify's is Spotify Mix, but spotify.com still uses Spotify Circular for Arabic, Hebrew, Cyrillic, Greek and Devanagari.

Fonts we found on brand websites

|---|---|
| Nike | Helvetica Now for text and headings, and Nike's own cuts named Nike Futura ND and Nike TG |

Brand fonts you can use for free
A few companies have open-sourced their typefaces:
- IBM Plex, in Sans, Mono, Serif and Condensed, on GitHub and Google Fonts.
- Reddit Sans, under the SIL Open Font License, on GitHub.
- TikTok Sans, open-sourced after its 2023 launch.
- Google Sans Flex, the next generation of Google's brand typeface, free on Google Fonts since November 2025.
- Mozilla Headline and Mozilla Text, from Mozilla's brand guidelines.
A free font is not a free brand. Setting your product in IBM Plex is fine; making it look like an IBM product is not.
How to find the font any website uses
In the browser. Right-click the text, choose Inspect, and open the Computed tab: font-family
lists the fonts in the order the browser tries them, and the first one that loaded is the one you
see. The Network tab, filtered by Font, shows the files the page downloaded.
Without opening DevTools. Our free font finder reads the webfonts a site actually loads and names the heading font and the body font.
In code. Brand Identity API returns a company's fonts with their role and origin, along with its colors and logos:
const domain = process.argv[2] ?? "airbnb.com";
const response = await fetch(`https://brandidentityapi.com/v1/brands/${domain}`, {
headers: { Authorization: `Bearer ${process.env.BRAND_IDENTITY_API_KEY}` },
});
if (!response.ok) {
const { error } = await response.json();
throw new Error(`${error.code}: ${error.message}`);
}
const brand = await response.json();
for (const font of brand.fonts) {
// type is "title" or "body"; origin is "google", "adobe", "custom" or "system".
console.log(`${font.type}: ${font.name} (${font.origin}, weights ${font.weights.join(", ")})`);
}The fonts come from the files the site loads, not from the fallback list in its CSS, so a custom
brand font shows up as custom with its real name. Every account starts with 50 free lookups.
Each brand page answers "What font does this company use?" from the same data, next to its brand colors and logos. For how companies document their typefaces, see these brand guidelines examples.
